Transformers Movie Car “Bumblebee” Featured at 38th Annual Town Fair Tire World of Wheels

Transformers Bumblebee Camaro

From the "Transformers" movie series, the autobot Bumblebee special edition Camaro will be featured at the 38th Annual Town Fair Tire World of Wheels custom car show and motorsports expo in Boston.

BOSTON – Bumblebee, an autobot star of the “Transformers” movie series, will be featured at the thirty-eighth annual Town Fair Tire World of Wheels custom car show and motorsports expo at Boston’s Seaport World Trade Center from Friday, Mar. 30, through Sunday, Apr. 1. For nearly four decades, the Town Fair Tire World of Wheels has treated spectators to displays of hundreds of America’s finest, one-of-a-kind hot rods, customs, trucks and motorcycles, which are joined each year by feature cars, celebrity appearances and special attractions.

Bumblebee actually is a special edition 2012 Chevrolet Camaro. The “Transformers” movies have become a blockbuster series and so have the Camaro Transformers special editions. In conjunction with the summer 2011 release of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” Chevrolet announced the 2012 Transformers special edition. Offered on the car’s top two trim levels, 2LT and 2SS, the 2012 Transformers edition improves upon the popular 2010 model. The 2012 Transformers signature is a stripe design consistent with the actual “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” Bumblebee model. This includes rally yellow exterior paint with exclusive carbon-fiber-like weave rally stripes that travel on each side of the hood bulge, roof, deck lid and spoiler. This model also includes side gill decal stripes, a look borrowed from the 2011 Camaro convertible Indianapolis 500 pace car.

In addition to the Bumblebee Camaro, feature cars at this year’s show will include a ’60s bubbletop car called Mantaray; BASF 1957 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing; redesigned by well known custom designer and builder Chip Foose; and four special car sections—the Shake Pit, showcasing vintage and current Ford muscle cars, World of Wheels Ol Skool Rodz display, Direct Connection display of vintage and current Hemi-powered vehicles and Drag City USA, featuring vintage race cars.

Celebrities scheduled to make personal appearances will include New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung, Billy Bretherton from A&E Network’s “Billy the Exterminator” and Deena Nicole Cortese of MTV’s reality series “Jersey Shore.”
